Here are some notes from a training session I went to today, run by Simon Jamieson, the online marketing manager at Co-operative Financial Services, who run Smile, The Co-operative Bank and CIS. I'll add a bit more detail at a later date, but I wanted to get the basics down immediately before I forget them.
Simon outlined that there are lots of techniques available:
So-called old new media
And new new media
Blogs and forums
Myspace and You Tube
He then explored these each of these in more detail. I haven't gone into detail here - I've just listed websites which he suggested were worth looking at:
Ads on your site
Ads by Google - to earn money from relevant advertising on your website
New, new media
Here's a good example - Greenpeace Car Ad
Web 3.0 - The future web?
Google Maps - so people can see where you are.
