One of the blogs featured on the right hand side of my blog is from the School for Social Entrepreneurs - I've put it there because it's the best blog I've found to date which specifically deals with social enterprise and social entrepreneurship. It's a good source of links to other blogs too.
They've blogged today about whether blogging can help you to achieve your triple bottom line - the ultimate aim of any social business. I've been blogging for a couple of months now and have found it invaluable, for a number of reasons.
It's helped me to clarify some of those ideas which race around my head on a daily basis. I try to give myself a 20 minute limit to write an entry - partly to make sure I get some other work done, and also because no-one's going to read anything that waffles on for too long.
It's also helped me make new contacts, and build upon existing relationships. Blogging, with its informal style, can be a really good way of building better relationships with people - particularly in the stuffy world of regeneration.
It's been a great (and cheap) way to raise our profile - a couple of entries have been picked up by New Start magazine and developed into articles.
And finally, it's fun! At least it is if you enjoy writing, as I do.
So if you're thinking of blogging, why not give it a try? You can get a 30 day free trial from Typepad - and if you click on the create your blog today link on the right, I might earn a bit of money too!
